This movement variation introduces a lateral component to the exercise, which may engage different muscles and promote stability through the core and hips.

By introducing lateral movement into the RDL, you may  engage the hamstrings to a slightly different degree compared to a standard RDL. The lateral tilt or rotation of the pelvis can alter the alignment and tension of the hamstring muscles, potentially emphasizing different portions of the muscle group.
