Living in a Fixer Upper Living in a fixer upper is an adventure. & with every adventure there is the the good, the weird, & the weirder. One weird thing I am just now discovering is the strangeness of wanting to decorate for the upcoming seasons like fall & Christmas, but then you realize no room in your home is complete. If you have been following our farmhouse fixer upper journey then you know there are unpainted walls, no flooring in most rooms, no curtains are hung, no furniture is in…

a woman in a white dress and jean jacket is standing in an open field with her back to the camera

This isn't the post I intended to write today, but I had to get this out. I couldn't keep this to myself & I felt in my heart that I wanted to include you guys in on all of this even if it was a little soon. Here it is... Last week Monday I gave birth to our eighth baby at 10 weeks. I can't even begin to describe my feelings because I don't think I have even fully processed this loss yet. I usually wait a while to talk about it on the blog when we miscarry so I

On Friday Jose, Cope, and I got up very early to venture down to Springfield Ohio for their Antique Show Extravaganza. We were really blown away by all of the amazing antiques that they had to offer. It was so great to be able to go to a show, as we haven't been in so long! It was also so great to have met many of you there! If you're interested in learning more about the Springfield Antique Show, click here . You can see a video of a glimpse of our trip to antique show as well. At the

“The Joie of motherhood is being able to see the world through a child’s eyes. It’s the reminder of innocence, excitement, & longing for knowledge at each step of their life. The honor to care for, love, & teach a child is pure joy in my eyes.” – @lizmariegalvan

One thing I really wanted to share more of on the blog this year are easy DIY projects! Last year we took some time off from DIY projects because we wanted to spend more time as a family with Cope being a newborn. Some days there just isn't enough time in the day to come up with an idea for a DIY project and complete it. But I've been feeling really inspired lately and have a few different ones I am working on! The first DIY project I want to share with you guys is these super easy DIY…

a woman is walking out of a house with her hand in her pocket and looking at the door

We painted our floors again! If you missed our original posts about painting our floors you can check those out here & here. So the biggest question I've been getting since we announced we were looking for a new color for our floors is why we are painting them again! The answer is that I just felt like trying something new. Why did we repaint the floors? The new paint color on our floors is a bit whiter and brighter than the old color. There wasn't anything wrong with our painted floors, I…

I really thought this was early, I mean it kind of is, but you guys it's going to be summer in another month so today with a few of my blogging pals I wanted to show you a glimpse of the direction our home is going for the summer months. Two words: Fresh & Clean. Oh, also maybe these too: Cottage, greenhouse, cozy, lovely, eclectic, farmhouse... ok, I'm done. Here is a tiny glimpse of some of the lovely changes we have made as we have headed into warmer days here on the farm & a few simple…

a woman sitting on a chair in a room with white walls and wooden floors, smiling at the camera

It's been a while since I posted one of these! It's not that I have not been antiquing or finding treasures, it's just that I wonder sometimes what to share. What will be inspiring? What will be helpful? What will be encouraging? What will be a dose of joy for someone? Since 2009-ish I've been sharing what I'm up to, what project I'm working on, & little life bits here & there. But sometimes I sit & wonder how I'm helping or what my purpose is. But then I get shaken out of it & remember that…

a woman standing in front of a store window smiling at the camera with her hands on her hips

Ok, so one of my MOST asked questions is 'Where are those tufted wing back chairs from in your living room?' The answer? Marshalls!! Seriously, they are two of my favorite pieces in our entire house. They are for sure a focal point of our upstairs living room & I'm so happy I found them because we all know how quickly things sell at Marshalls. I still see them all the time at Marshalls, TJ Maxx, & Home Goods so don't give up hope if you want these exact chairs, BUT I put together the…

Welcome to our new series!! This is a series that we will be sharing on our socials & here on the blog. What is the series? Well, let's rewind a second. One of our most frequently asked questions is about paint colors on furniture pieces around our farm. The problem? Most of the pieces are antique pieces that we didn't paint. So this series will be us color matching the pieces around our farm & creating custom colors, finding similar paint colors, & trying to bring you the BEST antique paint…

Happy Friday, Friends! This week has been such an emotional week full of gratitude as we prepare for my new book Cozy White Cottage Seasons to come out on TUESDAY! In just 4 short days I will be able to share the blood, sweat, and tears that we've been working on and creating at the White Cottage Farm for the past (almost) 2 years. I want to thank you all for sharing my excitement over the book launch next week and THANK YOU for all of your pre-orders. In addition to preparing for the book…
