Lakeside living near L.A.? The Toluca Lake home of the late Roy E. Disney, a former Disney executive and nephew of Walt Disney, is listed for $5 million.

I've spent much of my life in close proximity to Toluca Lake, but you can't reach the actual lake (it's completely private), so this is the most of it I've seen. There's a number on the back of this card that reads "12-58", and I'd guess this card might be from about 1958.

These days, the Los Angeles cityscape is filled with Rite Aid and CVS pharmacies who all look the same and feel interchangeable. It seems a shame that we no longer have individual pharmacies with their own personalities. This lovely shot is of the Lakeside Pharmacy at 10100 Riverside Drive, Toluca Lake, on the southwest corner at Mariota Ave. This shot is circa 1975, but the style of architecture suggests the building dates from much earlier.

Toluca Lake near Burbank, California is home to many stars and film industry members. It's also a convenient base to stay in if you visit Los Angeles.

Opened in 1949, closed in 2011. This sign is now gone, and the building will soon follow. 4300 W. Riverside Dr., Burbank CA. (Toluca Lake) Also used as a location for the original movie "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers."
