Bullocks downtown Los Angeles old pictures Bullocks looked much like this in the 60's when I worked there at age 19. I had my little $1.25 an hr. paycheck spent by Friday. I used to love entering the store with the chandeliers and the marble pillars.. every bit of the store was spotless and grand.

Higbee’s Department Store - Cleveland, OH

You never had to hunt for assistance and women dressed so nicely to shop at a Department store. The elevators had a uniformed attendant to announce the floors, there were 7 and he would tell you what was available there. Your purchases could be sent to your home by mail. The ladies rooms had a beautifully furnished sitting room and a lady in uniform to assist you with a hand towel or anything that you needed such as lotion or perfume. Shopping at Bullocks was an experience.
