This little blue block was so happy to be in the painting!   He is now with all his other block friends and telling them of his adventure and how he got to hang out with his big headed new friends.    He is famous in his hood.

"Guarding the Egg" 8in x 8in oil

Guarding the Egg was difficult because the Fork did not know what danger to look for.   Was the salt and pepper going to season it too much?   Was the coffee going to get out of hand with too much caffeine?  Maybe it was a danger you could not see.

"Cherie's Overlook" 6in x 6in. Oil

Cherie struggled to reach the top of the cup handle so she could see how many of her friends were trapped in the bowl.   Now how was she going to help them escape and how was she going to get down without leaving cherry juice.

The Grape family, the whole cluster of them, leaned over the edge of the bowl to hear what the twins were saying.    The twins were just saying that they loved them and to stay healthy.

Separated

On a good day of painting confidently I use about 3 brushes a painting.  Today I used 10!!   This tells me that I have a way to go to build my confidence back up.   I feel this is over worked but at least it is a painting!!   Trying to get into the habit of painting daily is taking some mental awareness.

I got up this morning at the crack of dawn, 6:20 to get to the grocery by 7:00 which is the time Seniors can go.   Now why they think old people get up that early and appear in public is beyond me. But I did it today and now have groceries to last 2 weeks.    So I got a late start on my painting.  This is no excuse for lack of confidence... just sayin.

Coffee with Friends 6in x 6in oil on panel

It has been so long since I have posted and I think I have forgotten how!   However I have been painting on a body of work that is going to be in a gallery.   Plus some commissions.   Today, the model, we were expecting, got the flu and had to cancel which opened up my Friday and I could paint this little daily!   Yea!

"One cherry, one bowl, one spoon" 6in x 6in oil painting

I am trying a more minimal approach with more brushwork and palette knife work.   It was fun just to concentrate on color value and brushstrokes.   Of course, composition is the #1 decision to be made.

Peel me a grape 6" x 6" oil

What knife do you use to peel grapes?   I choose a table knife because I liked the way it looked however I doubt if it peels well.  I love the glow on this little bowl.

Laughing cherries 6"x6" oil

These cherries look like they are rolling around laughing at the cherries in the bowl, and maybe they are.  I painted this two days ago and forgot to post it so then I was going to post it yesterday, but I forgot then too!   I tell you, I am having some trouble getting back into the strict routine that I had before I left for two months.  Here is my somewhat flimsy excuse, I painted on a commission portrait yesterday and that took all my brain power.   My energizer bunny batteries must be getting low.
