Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory
The UC Irvine Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory (CNLM) was established by the UC Regents in 1983 with James L. McGaugh as its Founding Director and is the first research institute in the world dedicated exclusively to the multidisciplinary study of learning and memory mechanisms in the brain.
SCIENCE
Much of what is known about how memory works was discovered by CNLM Fellows and Alumni. Together, they consist of a global network of more than 500 scholars.
EDUCATION
The CNLM has opportunities for the public, students, and faculty to further their connections and understanding of learning and memory.
OUTREACH
We are educating the next generation of brain scholars through our K-12 programs and our community.
COLLABORATION
UCI Brain, a CNLM signature program, advances our understanding of the neurobiology by enabling state-of-the-art collaborative research and creating an innovative digital hub for resource sharing and interactions.
