Whether you're planning an epidural or natural birth, there are so many benefits to creating a calming and relaxed space. The more relaxed you are in labor, the lower your perception of pain, and the better oxytocin can work to faciliate a smooth birth. As a doula of 16 years, I have some go-tos I recommend packing in your hospital bag strictly for the ambience. Don't forget the comfort/massage tools for labor, either! a living room filled with furniture and a baby crib

Stirling Medical have worked in many Birthing Rooms and designed, supplied & fitted cabinetry to hold vital, life-saving equipment, aiming to maintain the ‘home environment’. The resuscitaire equipment (cosy Cabinet as it is sometimes called) needed in Maternity Birthing Rooms is not exactly an elegant piece of kit, so this is neatly tucked away in a cabinet, ready for access should the need arise.
