Minnie Ashley (1883-1946) actress, sculptor and philanthropist was born as Beatrice Minerva Ashley in Charlottesville, Virginia. She married William Astor Chanler (1867-1934) in 1903. Their two sons were William Astor Chanler Jr (1904-2002) and Sidney Ashley Chanler (1907-1994). She died aboard a train enroute from New York to Portland, Maine aged 62.
