Here’s how you’re making your Bulgarian split squat waaaayy too much quad   A common mistake I see when trying to bias glutes in a BSS is using too high of a bench and coming down very far to the point where you’re heavily lengthening the back quad (rec fem).   You want to be sure you’re using an appropriate box/bench height (around shin height) and that you’re coming down to parallel (where the glutes are under the greatest tension in lengthened position movements). Dr. Danielle Khoury | Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist on Instagram: "Continuing my last post on the importance of adductor strengthening, here are some different exercises all addressing adductor strength in different ways ⬇️ 1️⃣ The pelvic girdle desires✨ balance ✨ of the surrounding muscles so I like to incorporate adductor strengthening with movements that also are strengthening the glutes and lengthening the pelvic floor — aka hip hinging movements. 2️⃣ Increasing load on the adductor improves strength. The Copenhagen plank is a very common exercise seen on social media but is extremely challenging (I personally couldn’t do one comfortably until almost one year postpartum).
