Lighthouse in Lorain County, Ohio The Lorain West Breakwater Light, also called the Lorain Harbor Light, is a lighthouse in Lorain, Ohio, United States. The light was built in 1917 on Lake Erie by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. It was taken out of service in 1965 when it was replaced by an automated lighttower on a nearby breakwater. MUST View this one Large! #3 in Explore for 2/20/2009! I tried to attain a sharp image here, while keeping noise/grain to a minimum. Much easier task with my Nikon D90, compared to the D40. I could have gone with a longer exposure here, but I kinda like how the shorter exposure (6 seconds) displays how windy it was that night....illustrated by the motion on the water surface. TGIF everybody....it sure has been a long week!!

To close out this week (the last few days anyway) of mystery, here's an ad that I found in the 1965 Elyria phone book while researching Dog 'n Suds. The ad is for the Wonder Burger Drive-in.
