an image with the words god created you, palms 19 13 - 16 on it

Psalms 139:13-16 is just as powerful to me as that first part of the Psalms. While the first part of Psalms 139 talks about how there is nowhere you can hide from His presence and how He knows our every thought and everything we will do before we do it, Psalms 139:13-16 focuses on how He created each one of us on purpose for a purpose. We are not a mistake. I can’t tell you how much this Scripture has meant to me since I discovered it a few years ago.

the spirit of god has made me and the breath of the mighty gives me life

God made us intentionally, purposely, and personally (Psalm 139:13-16). God puts his breath in us, and we live. God’s creativity is the handiwork of the Spirit — the same Spirit who hovered over the waters at creation waiting for God’s creative word to bring his creation to completion. This understanding should humble us, recognizing that God’s breath is what sustains us.
