glazing in the sun🍊🤍✨ Sun is so special at this time of year so I've been using every opportunity to bask in it and think of summer🌞 I mean it's not that hard when you're drawing orange trees all day... they make me so happy :-) #ceramics #handbuilding #pottery #handmadeceramics #handmade #ceramicmug #designprocess #smallbusiness

someone is holding a bowl with different colors on it and then they are looking at it
an image of a bowl with different colors on it and the caption says, could not have asked for better results
From amaco glaze FB group: caption: Edit: glazing process: a little bit of everything lol. Iron lustre, deep firebrick, ancient jasper, cosmic tea dust, Albany slip brown, tenmoku, deep sienna speckle, oatmeal, ancient copper. Slip trailer in concentric layers, none overlap too much bit each a bit wet so they slightly meld together. Tenmoku around the center design. Slow cool cone 5 (which according to my cones resulted in cone 6)
a cup with writing on it sitting next to a note
the bowl has been decorated with pink and white swirls on it, along with other pictures

Pink Poppy Oval Bowl
Beautiful oval serving dish, lovingly painted and carved with botanicals. This particular method of decoration is called sgraffito, where an image is created by carving through a layer of underglaze to reveal the color of the clay below. The design on the back is created with the Mishima technique, where colored underglaze is inlaid in the clay body. Clear "antique" crackle glaze covers the entire piece. Dish measures approximately 11"x5.5", and 1.5" deep. All items are made by hand, by me, from start to finish. As with all handmade items, slight irregularities in size, shape, and color are to be expected, and serve only to enhance the unique beauty of each piece. No two pieces are exactly alike.
