Here are some little brooches I made for my friends Marina, Sue And Gillian. The stamp is from Art Tickets by Invoke Arts. I also used a net background stamp which is by The Artistic Stamper, to give the impression of being in a cage. A bit of symbolism! Lol!

House swap!!
Posted in Uncategorized on February 25, 2009 by craftytrogI’m taking part in a house swap on Hels Crafty Angels, and here are my little houses. They had to be ATC-sized, plus a roof, made with thick card, and with lots of ink, stamps, mixed media etc on them. I used harlequin basic grungeboard for my base, which I painted with acrylic dabbers. The stamps I used are Chintz background by The Artistic Stamper, pierot plate 1 by PaperArtsy, Art tickets by Invoke Arts, and Crafty Individuals – CI207 & 208. I used distress ink for my stamping, and added ribbon, feathers, jewellery bits and a game piece.
ATC – Art
Posted in Uncategorized on February 20, 2009 by craftytrogHere is an ATC I made for an art-themed swap. All the stamps are by Stamper’s Anon. I white-embossed the ‘Art’ part of the ‘Artist’ stamp from Regal Findings, then stamped the corner from Soulful Journey and part of a stamp from Tattered Elements, in black, in the corners. I added a couple of brads, edged the card with gold krylon, then matted it on black card.
UK Stampers Sunday Challenge – Postcard from Paris
Posted in UKS Sunday challenge on February 19, 2009 by craftytrogHere is my entry for this week’s Sunday Challenge over on the UK Stamper’s blog. I used stamps by Crafty Individuals on a spritzed background.
Sunday Stampers – Oh Boy!
Posted in ATCs, Sunday Stampers on February 19, 2009 by craftytrogI made this ATC for a friendship-themed swap, and it ties in nicely with Hels’ Sunday Stamper’s Challenge too! I used a Crafty Individual stamp and Adirondak dye inks. I made the background by swiping butterscotch, wild plum and oregano inks on my non-stick mat, spritzing it, then swooshing my white card in the inks. Then I stamped the branches by Stampers Anon in oregano, and the words by CI in wild plum. The image is stamped with oregano ink, then I used my waterbrush to colour it.
Hummingbirds Card
Posted in Uncategorized on February 16, 2009 by craftytrogThis one’s for Uncle Bob, who’s not been too well lately. The image is by Crafty Individuals, and I stamped it onto CI patterned paper. This is a great trick I learned from Jean Hardy of CI, that saves having to colour an image in, and it looks great too!
Baby Girl Card/Lots To Do – Wings
Posted in Cards on February 16, 2009 by craftytrogI made this card for a commission, using a baby fairy stamp by Lavinia Stamps, and DCWV ‘Nana’s Kids’ papers. The letter stamps are by Hero Arts and the flowers are Prima. I think I’ll enter this card for this week’s Lots To Do Challenge, as the baby fairy has wings!

Posted in Uncategorized on February 12, 2009 by craftytrogI’m taking part in a paper bead swap over at UKStampers, and here are my efforts! It was nice to get my melt pot out again after so long! I started off with some clear UTEE, and added some that I’d coloured with some oregano AI, but my pot was on for about 4 hours, so the UTEE ended up a bit brown! I quite like that though!
One For A Chicken Fancier!
Posted in Uncategorized on February 11, 2009 by craftytrogMy friend Karen commissioned me to make a card for her husband who keeps chickens. I used some Elusive Image stamps that I bought last year, knowing they would come in handy one day. I used basic grey papers with a rustic feel, and doodled some stitches around the edges. It took a couple of days to come together, sometimes you have to step back a few times, but I’m quite pleased with how it turned out.

Posted in Cards on February 9, 2009 by craftytrogI made this card for my friend to give to her daughter. I got my inspiration from the Craftwork Cards gallery.
Valentine Cards
Posted in Uncategorized on February 7, 2009 by craftytrogMy first Altered Book – Object D’Art Challenge
Posted in Altered Art on February 7, 2009 by craftytrogThis was my first attempt at altering a book. It’s a book on Mary Queen of Scots that I bought in a charity shop.
First I gessoed the cover, then painted it with pebble paint dabber. I added some juniper and stream paint around the edges, and pearl dabber up the spine of the book. Then I stamped and embossed some swirls and corners in silver metal magic, and embossed around the edges too. I used gel medium to add bits of a page from a book, then stamped a few quotes and feathers. I painted some grungebord letters with the sames paints that I used on the book, then double-embossed them and added them to the book. finally I added some bling. I have a lot of quotes and sayings scribbled in a note-pad, so now I have somewhere nice to put them.

Posted in Uncategorized on February 2, 2009 by craftytrogThis is my entry for this week’s Lots To Do Challenge and Arty Girlz Challenge. Firstly, I used alcohol inks to make my background. Then I made the ribbon flower by using running stitches along the edge of the ribbon, then gathering it up and stitching the ends together, and I sewed a pink button to it. The button border, heart and word are all Elusive Image stamps, and the stitch border is by Hot Off The Press.
