Niles Eldredge

Niles Eldredge (Born::August 25, 1943) is an American biologist and paleontologist, who proposed the theory of punctuated equilibrium in 1972 along with Stephen Jay Gould. After studying Latin and anthropology at Columbia College of Columbia University in 1965 (where he graduated summa cum laude), he completed his PhD in geology in 1969 at Columbia University.[1]
