The second in our flashbacks to Christmas Past comes in the form of TV Comic No.164, dated 25th December 1954 (but published several days before of course). Back in the early years of this comic, it was aimed at a very young audience, and Muffin the Mule was the cover star, drawn by Neville Main. Hoot was a D.C. Thomson comic that had a brief run of just 53 weekly issues before merging into The Dandy. At 16 pages it was smaller in page count than its contemporaries but it contained more colour. A fun, well produced comic, it deserved to last longer.
