Jedi survivor concept art

Early Cal Kestis character design exploration for JEDI: Survivor. Playing with the theme of ronin, wanderer and survivor. The idea behind this design is he might need to mask his identity while traveling in order to avoid attracting the Empire's attention.

Tonight, let’s take a look behind the scenes at some of the concept art that went into the creation of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, one of the most Star Warsy-lookin’ games of all time.

Concept work for the opening level of Jedi Survivor. Cal is handcuffed and led through an especially rundown and poor area of the underworld. He is then brought to a lift which takes him up to where a corrupt senator is waiting.

For the Jedha Dash Temple, I was responsible for the lighting under the guidance of my Art Director, Nate Stephens and Lighting Lead, Matthew Cooke. For this area I took all emotional inspirations from the Indiana Jones, The Mummy and Uncharted Games and wanted to make this temple to carry it's mystical DNA but have it torn by the Empire equipment. Star Wars Jedi Survivor was a tremendous project that had many contributors to each area of the game. I was responsible for the entirety of the environment art such as asset creation / modeling and sculpting / material creation / layout / set dressing. With the expect of sharing some assets and materials with other artists who worked on other parts of the planet Jedha.
