This signage was erected as the result of a 1925 contest sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and Real Estate Board in Redwood City, California. Wilbur H. Doxsee won the prize of ten dollars for his entry: "By Government Test, Our Climate is Best." The wording was later shortened to read: "Climate Best By Government Test" and placed near the entry of downtown Redwood City.
