This photo features 1960s space age fashion. The woman is wearing some sort of hat that is supposed to look like a space helmet as well as silver reflective leggings and a short shift style dress (Ashlin H 3/6)

Pierre Cardin brought high fashion to the street; he invented the bubble dress, launched the use of cartridge pleating, vinyl and oversize buttons.

The Brooklyn Museum opens its doors to the 97-year-old French designer, still defined by his groovy late ’60s fashions.

The image above is from a 1965 Frigidaire print advertisement. The futuristic style reminds me of the New Christy Minstrels album cover we looked at a few years ago, though the faux-wood paneling on that fridge doesn't scream "space age" to me.
