Home Gardens

Growing a home garden ranks as one of life's true joys. With busy lifestyles and multiple distractions though, it's all too easy to forget an important watering schedule and see those special plants wilt instead of flourish. Timers can help but they don't easily adjust for periods of hotter weather or unexpected rain. Blumats take the guesswork out of watering and give you extra time for the more interesting and fun parts of being in your garden.

The heart of the Blumat products is the clay cone. It is in direct contact with the soil and roots and measures the moisture exactly where it is important. Each clay cone is a stand-alone sensor that regulates the release of water independently. As a result, every individual plant regulates watering itself, totally individually and as required. You save time and money and enjoy healthy, beautiful plants.

Blumat 6 Sensor Drip Irrigation Kit - Gravity | Drip irrigation, Drip irrigation kit, Indoor vegetable gardening
6 Plant Self-Watering System🙏💧🌱
This is the best way to water 6 plants! Our Blumat 6 Sensor Drip Irrigation Kit (IG16054). Gravity-feeds are generally ideal for smaller systems and systems utilizing Blumat sensors and distribution drippers. Loops (having two bulkhead fittings connected to the reservoir) are recommended in gravity-fed systems, as the increased number of connections in the water supply tubing will assist in equalizing pressure and minimizing pressure gradients/differentials in the water supply tubing. In a gravity-fed system (generally designed with loops of water supply), the purge valve should be placed in the loop at the point furthest from the input points from the reservoir. This will maximize the pressure gradient in the water supply tubing, and any undesirable material will be pushed out of the sy

Roots in fabric pots reach the sides and stop growing out because of the "air pruning" effect. Instead, the roots branch out from the center and fill the soil with lots of smaller but stronger roots. In plastic or ceramic pots, the roots circle around and the plants become root-bound. Less expensive, easier to move around and store, more environmental, and better for the plants; the benefits of fabric pots can surprise you.

In Some Ways, Taking Care of Plants is Like Tuning a Guitar | Plant & herb growing kits, Indoor vegetable gardening, Automatic irrigation system
In Some Ways, Taking Care of Plants is Like Tuning a Guitar
Like finding the harmony between too sharp and too flat, watering is finding the harmony between too wet and too dry. Everyone has had that moment of doubt, "did I water too much?" or "Is there enough water?" Most can recall a time or two when they damaged the health of one of their plants through an overzealous watering schedule or simply forgetfulness. Few however, recognize the current epidemic of ongoing, low-level overwatering. Mild over-watering is hard to detect. It doesn’t necessarily cause leaf droop and often presents no outward signs but dramatically decreases plant health and yields. Our self watering Blumat emitters are capable of saving both time and water for your backyards, greenhouses, or small farms.

Should I use a 5" or 9" Blumat Watering Sensor? Use the 5" in 1-3 gallon pots with diameters of 12" or less (don't let ceramic tip touch bottom of pot). Best in 5 gallon and larger pots to use the Maxi Blumat 9" sensors to assure that the whole container is kept moist without dry spots.

The working metaphor for adjusting blumat sensors is that of driving a boat. If the reader has ever driven a boat, they’ll know that when the wheel is turned, the boat does not immediately change direction the way a car does. The rudder of the boat instantly moves, but there is a time-gap between the time the wheel is turned and when the boat will actually begin to turn. Blumat systems are the same! If you adjust your system and don’t see immediate results, your best bet is to wait 24 hours.

Color me impressed ! 😯
This 4 month old Blusoak is getting some nice colors 💥 Not 100% sure what it is but my guess would be Purple Non Sulfur Bacteria (PNSB) which are present in @kaya.farm Synergistic Microbes which I use a LOT ! 😂 They are phototrophic bacteria able to switch between aerobic and anaerobic metabolism and can produce red/purple pigments. They have a wide range of benefit that can be used from soil/water remediation to waste treatment. 💧 🌱 Insta handle - @the_green_munchkin
