Led by a tight-knit, proudly female-run team in North London, Damson Madder was born in 2020, the brainchild of our founder Emma. After years in the industry, Emma witnessed firsthand the environmental and ethical costs that can come with fashion brands and set out to build something better.

We know that our industry comes with inherent challenges. The path to sustainability is ongoing, and we’re constantly evolving to ensure our practices reduce harm — to both people and the planet.

At the centre of everything, is quality. Every Damson Madder piece is crafted to endure, to be worn, loved, and reworn. Our hope is that through considered design and intentional production, our garments become long-standing fixtures in your wardrobe — never destined for landfill, but made to last.

DESIGNED FOR LONGEVITY

Our approach begins at the design stage — where every detail is considered with longevity in mind. We create versatile pieces intended to be worn in multiple ways, season after season.

We continuously refine our materials, prioritising improved, lower-impact fibres that stand the test of time. By designing with durability and adaptability at the core, we aim to minimise waste before a garment is even made.

Damson Madder are proud to announce that we are now SCOPE certified by the The Textile Exchange across RAF (RWS and RMS Responsible Animal Fibre standards) and GRS (Global Recycled Standards) This means we have closed the chain of custody, and have full traceability of these fibres from farms/mill to the product you buy.

Organic cotton is at the heart of what we do, and we are now officially a GOTS (Global Organic Transaction Standards) certified Brand. GOTS is the gold standard for ecology and social responsibility for textiles made using organic fibres and again gives us full visibility in our chain.

We believe that true sustainability starts with the materials we choose. By continuously refining our sourcing practices, we aim to reduce our impact and create products that stand the test of time.

We are lucky enough to have a part of our team based in Türkiye who conduct weekly visits to our factory partners there.  Globally, all our factories are audited regularly by a third party, with audits being conducted both semi-announced and unannounced.  

We believe in full transparency; and as such, our factory partners are published on the Open Supply Hub - a collaborative database used by retailers building visibility around their global supply chain.  We have mapped out all our Tier 1 and 2 facilities, and are working on publishing Tier 3 and 4 by the end of 2025.

We are also signatories to the Transparency Pledge alongside other retailers, to further uphold our values of visibility and transparent business practices.

We also create bespoke, non-profit collections to mark moments that align with our values, such as International Women’s Day — raising funds and awareness for causes close to our hearts.

Our goal goes beyond simply raising funds. We strive to build meaningful relationships with our charity partners — rooted in connection, collaboration, and community.

Where possible, we get involved at a grassroots level, whether through team volunteering, hosting workshops, or supporting hands-on projects.

Our current charity partner is Wen, the Women’s Environmental Network.  Wen. is an environmental charity working on issues that connect women, health, equity and environmental justice. Wen takes an intersectional feminist approach to tackling the climate and nature emergencies.

Wen supports women and communities to take action, amplifying racialised and marginalised women’s voices, and advocates for change.
