The Muir Woods National Monument in Marin County, near San Francisco, is a unique and breathtaking forest that is home to some of the tallest and oldest trees in the world. The park covers over 554 acres and is named after John Muir, a famous naturalist and conservationist who played a major role in preserving the redwoods of California. The main attraction of the park is the towering redwoods, which can reach heights of over 250 feet and are estimated to be over 1,000 years old.
