We're having a Giant Book prop designed for the libraries. It can be used for displays and other things like special storytimes. This is the shell of the book. Once it's painted it will look just like an old-fashioned storybook.

Handmade oversized books created out of boxes and foam board. Used white wrapping paper to cover the box and drew lines to look like pages. Then created the hard cover with pieces of foam board. The book jacket is made from solid color wrapping paper and I hand drew the title and other details with markers and some paint. The covers can be changed out as I want to feature different books. Can't wait make more giant book props!

This Bookcase was painted on a rolling tri-wall, we used two sides of our tri-walls for our production of “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella”. I used tons of pictures of bookcases and bookshelves for inspiration, and then after painting the books, I went back and added gold and silver detailing to many of them. I also added a globe, a chest, and a bust of Shakespeare.
