Cocker, the raspy-voiced British singer known for his frenzied cover of "With a Little Help From My Friends," and the teary ballad "You Are So Beautiful," died of lung cancer on, Monday, Dec. 22, 2014 in Colorado. He was 70.

Joe Cocker (May 20, 1944 - December 22, 2014) was an English rock and blues singer, who came to popularity in the 1960s, and was known for his gritty voice, his spasmodic body movement in performance and his cover versions of popular songs, particularly those of the Beatles. His main musical influences growing up were Ray Charles & Lonnie Donegan. Cocker entered the big time in 1968 with a groundbreaking rearrangement of The Beatles' "With a Little Help from My Friends".
