87K views · 45K reactions | I think outside of the box when Thrifting. And in this case, finding a vintage jewelry box at my local Goodwill, turned into re-creating Miss Honey’s beloved chocolate box that I had been captivated by in the 1996 film Matilda. I had not realized the Whitman’s Sampler would tuck right into the box! Thrifting with serendipity! ❤️ A little bit of trivia for you. I named my daughter after the Roald Dahl book. She read it for the first time independently when she was five years old. #thriftflip #thrifteddecor #upcycleddecor #matildamovie #easydiy | Leslie Rodgers

Thrifted Floor Lamp gets a new job! #lampflip #plantstand #DIY #style #upcycle #rework #diy #thriftflip #homedecor... | By Redeux Style | It's time for an upcycle, a little for a flip. I found this broken floor lamp. Got it for next to nothing. It also happens to have one of these booblights as the top part that holds the bulb. So, let's give it new life. Check it out. For this floor lamp thrifting and got an excellent deal on it because when I plugged it in, it did not work but I knew that I had another use for it and that use would be new life and making a really pretty plantstand. I actually love floor lamps that don't work because this is such a simple DIY and I'm going to show you how I Such a fun way to elevate your plant situation and this one even has a booblight. Y'all ask me about these all the time. So, what we're going to do is take it apart. Lamps like this always screw apart so they come in different sections. We're going to start by taking off the top and we're going to set that aside. It just little, there's a little screw piece that usually holds the bulb in top piece in place. You're going to pull that off. You're going to cut the cord off, unscrew the top, and pull it straight out the top. You can cut the rest of the cord completely off. It really depend on the lamp you're using how you're going to detach all the pieces but you'll find that they all go back together so just pull it all apart and then twist it back together however you like it I took one piece out one section out because I want it a little bit shorter and I may even do it even shorter than this but I want to start and give myself some options so I'm making a little taller that way I have some options if I want to make it shorter so I'm going to do the main post metallic gold and the top piece metallic gold and then I love this burnished amber from Bear I've used it before on a lampflip I did and the two metallic gold in this color together looks so pretty. So, again, you paint it whatever colors, whatever tones you want and then, once you get it all painted, I decided to actually take one more piece out of it and make it a little bit shorter. I'll keep this for another project. Now, if your lamp happened to work, you could keep the plug and you could actually take a really cool basket like this trash lit that I did and turned into a little planter and pop it on top and just right through the basket, screw it into place and make yourself a lamp even with the pop light but for me, I just wanted to make this into a straight planter and I love this green color as well. This is actually the color that I did that trashlit basket in. So, spray just the outside of the booblight. You don't even have to spray the inside 'cuz it will appear dark already. When I water the plant, it doesn't get on the inside and kind of flake the paint off and then, the water can drain straight down the center if I pop my plant in. Then, you just screw your booblight piece back on. It's this beautiful green tone with those metallics. I love the way it looks. Put whatever kind of plant or flower, a big fern, something beautiful, whatever you love in it and you've turned a broken floor lamp for just a few bucks into a really beautiful ornate plantstand. So, have a little fun and snag those broken lamps at those thrift stores. Happy upcycling.
132K views · 29K reactions | One year ago, a reel of mine went viral, reaching over 1.5 million views. It feels a little ironic as I lay in bed with a cold, surrounded by tissues, reflecting on that moment. For three years, I had poured my heart into sharing thrifting and style content, never imagining that a simple reel about making a tissue holder would gain so much attention. Behind the scenes, though, my life was far from picture-perfect. Someone I loved deeply was nearing the end of their life, and the weight of that grief was overwhelming. When the reel started to take off, I wanted to be excited, but my heart was heavy. Messages poured in asking how I made the tissue holder, and while I had every intention of sharing the process, I simply couldn’t. I was emotionally and physically drained, focused on spending every moment I could with my loved one. Now, on the one-year anniversary of that reel, life has come full circle. As I refill the tissue holder that started it all, I find it fitting to finally share how I made it. This moment is a bittersweet reminder of the beauty and complexity of life—the way joy and sorrow often intertwine. Thank you for being here, for supporting me, and for helping me find moments of joy even in the hardest times. And thank you, @redeux_style, for sparking the idea that inspired it all. | BROOKE

It was 699. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it. I have a fantastic idea on how to upcycle it. I also found this base at the thrift store. It has a little bulb on it and that light fixture fits right on top of it. I just need to figure out a way so it doesn't wiggle around and I think I've got the solution. I'm going to use some of this double sided tape. Put it around the of this light fixture and I think it's going to hold it in place. I love finding these old light fixtures because if you were to buy something comparable like this brand new, you would pay so much for it. So, here's it all put together. I've plugged it in and I'm going to turn it on and you're not going to believe the beautiful glow that this gives off. I'm so glad I was able to upcycle it.

7 Upcycles for Unique, Beautiful Outdoor Decor! | 7 Upcycles for Unique, Beautiful Outdoor Decor! #outdoordecor #outdoor #patiodecor #ecofriendly #upcycle #rework #DIY #thriftflip #homedecor #upcycling... | By Redeux Style | Time for an upcycle seven of my favorite ways to elevate your outdoor decor for spring. Check it out. If you all follow me for a while, you know I do this every year. I've done it for years. I take tiki torch tops and then I take some citronella oil. Some burn cleaner than others so you just have to play around with the kind that you like. Your canisters up, find a container you like. I like to use pots but you can use anything you want. I always put a little bit of pea gravel in first then I put my torch in and then I put the pea gravel around it because I find if you put all the pea gravel in first, it's hard to like twist the canister in. It's really easy just to put it in and then put the pea gravel around it. And then you keep the little caps hanging over the side. And guess what? They look great during the day and they look great at night and they keep the bugs away. You can even do them in big pots or planters and put them around your home or event just to help keep the bugs away and for a little extra lighting. So they have a lot of uses. Now that I'm using my canisters and pots, what do I do with those tiki torch steaks? Well, these are vintage amber sandwich goblet. And they fit perfectly in my tiki torches. I took a little bit of glue, put it right around the edge of the glass, and popped a solar light on top, and put them around my firepit. Such an easy DIY. Such a fun upcycle and a great way to elevate. Next up, those aquariums. I thrifted this one, got it half off. It had a crack in it. All I did was bring it home, clean it out, use a little bit of electrical tape to fix that crack. I personally left it black because I wanted it to have kind of that hurricane, more modern vibe but you could paint it gold. You could do all sorts of fun things with the trim on one of these. I put a little pea gravel in the bottom and then I took candles of multiple different heights and put them inside of the aquarium making sure to kind of keep them in the middle. It doesn't get too hot. It burns just fine. Keeps everything lit outside on a table and this is one of my favorites. It really is so pretty and such a great way to reuse an aquarium. Again, you can customize it however you like. You can use a bigger an aquarium or a little one. You could even use a fish bowl. Just a fun way to have something outside when the wind blows that your candles will not go out in. If you'll notice, there's a theme with a lot of these. I'm really into lighting. Lighting is a huge thing for me. So, let's talk about condiment jars. Thrifted belts and a solar cap. This one is incredibly simple and a great way to elevate outdoor entertaining. All you need is a condiment jar, hot glue, or gorilla glue. If you live somewhere hot, you might want to use something other than hot glue, a solar cap, some thrifted belts, a pair of scissors, and all we're going to do is we're going to take that jar and we're going to clean it off, get the label off, then we're going to take our thrifted belt. We're going to go ahead and clasp the buckle at the top and we're going to wrap it around our jar. We're going to use a little bit of glue on the sides and on the bottom of the belt to hold that jar perfectly in place. Now, remember, hot glue you can use if you're going to have it inside. If you're going to have it outside, you might want to use something a little more industrial like a gorilla glue that won't heat up if you live in tech or some place very hot. Once you get both of the sides glued down then what you're going to do is you're going to take that little extra piece of belting and you're going to cut it and you're going to trim it so it matches up on two ends and you're going to glue that in place because it's just a fun little accent right around it. It actually makes it look like it's more of a lantern that you would hold up by the handle. Then you're going to take a little bit of glue and you're going to run it around the edge of that jar with your solar light and you're going to pop your solar right on there. Great thing about it is that if you use hot glue just around the top to hold the solar cap in place, you can easily pull it off and replace it as needed. It won't ever hold so strong and then that's it. You have a beautiful lantern. You can do a ton of these all all over a tree and really just make a beautiful outdoor situation. Freaking a beautiful outdoor situations. What do you do when you have a beautiful brass chandelier? You've pulled all the wiring out of it because if you want to rewire it, you can but what if you want to use it outside? Well, sometimes I put solar lights in the but during the winter you may not get as much light or you may want to hang it under a patio and this is a great option for over a table outside. Take these candles that I scored. I love these so much. They're like a faux wax and then they flicker. They look like real candles when they're lit up and if you just pop these inside of your little candle labras where originally the wiring had gone then you can like use your little timer on your remote control and take them up and down and how beautiful. How beautiful have this hanging outside not have to worry about any candles being blown out over a table for a dinner party. It's just beautiful and it most definitely elevates any situation you have going on outside. You can also use multiple chandeliers hanging at different heights as well which is super fun. Now, let's talk about plants specifically plants outside specifically closet door hooks to hang the plants outside. This is a really simple way to hang your plants along a fence line very in a Expensive. You can get these at the dollar store. You can use these bigger hooks as well for more decorative or this is a little bit more industrial where you can just hang your plants right on it. This is great because these hooks bend a little bit but you can hang your basket right on them or you can use a zip tie or you can just hang it on the closet door hooks with the handle. Then you can line your fence with plants and it's just a beautiful way to add those very inexpensively or you can even use them for towels on the side of the fence when the kids are playing in the sprinkler. First time I figured out this little hack was on a thrifted woven lampshade that I used on an indoor plant but I had these two ratan lampshades. One's for hanging lamp and one's for a table lamp. So I thought you know what spring's coming. I'm going to do some fun stuff outside and make some a lampshades. So all I'm going to do I have two hanging plants. I'm just taking the hooks off of them. I'm going to use them for an upcycle later which I will show y'all. Then I literally am just going to place my plants inside of the lampshades. So you kind of have to look at your shade and see like what sides the biggest opening for the hanging one obviously I'm going to make the little opening the bottom but for my table lamp I could put it on either side but because the little piece that holds it onto the lamp like kind of perfectly holds the pot I'm just going to leave it with that side facing up and then I'm just going to place each one inside of the lampshades I love this because it elevates they're easy to water outside the drainage just goes right out the bottom it doesn't like get on the basket and make it schmutzy and I think it's really fun it kind of just is this Fun creative way to use these rattan lampshades that you may not be using in your house and sometimes I really do spot these at the thrift store which is pretty cool. So, think outside the box. Make yourself a plant shade y'all. Happy upcycling.
