David Fischer Déhà is basically a musical Midas. Whatever this man touches, it turns to gold. Exhibit 2544: this right here. We should all be over even checking what kind of music he's releasing at this point, just buy and let it take us. Nethermost is an incredible moloch of a song, demanding your undivided attention for all of its 44 crushing minutes. Even the quiet, sombre parts are desolate far beyond reason. Also, the mesmerising, droning character of Absolute Comfort is pure bliss. A stark release! Favorite track: Nethermost.

Bertrand Marchal Ce qui marche le mieux sur cet album, ce sont les registres vocaux et la façon dont ils sont mixés, se superposant, s'entrecroisant, l'un multipliant les effets de l'autre, en amenant du contraste, des textures variées. La musique elle-même est hyper sobre, ayant pris le parti de la lenteur extrême, d'un Funeral Doom amosphérique aérien. Une des oeuvres les plus pures de Déhà. Qu'il la signe de son nom veut sans dire quelque chose sur le prix qu'il lui porte.

“Nethermost & Absolute Comfort” is an intense Déhà record, with the themes of self hatred, desponency, self harm and hopelessness, meant as a testimony from a part of the darkest past of the artist. After the acclaimed “Ave Maria II”, Déhà comes back with a dark yet weirdly emotional journey through super slow funeral doom metal that coud blend the power of acts like Colosseum, Comatose Vigil and Wormphlegm.
Two monoliths for songs : “Nethermost”, a +40min track showcasing the vocal centipede Déhà is, with clean singing, cavernous growls, insane shrieks and more. “Absolute Comfort” brings the paradox of drony guitars and an atmosphere as thick as those green forests you have nightmares about, while keeping the listener stuck on a voyage for +25mins that ends with a climax that brings shivers down the spine.
“Nethermost & Absolute Comfort” is a 72minute album of forced and fierce funeral fog for the faithless.
