    This paper is in line with the Educational Methodology strand and it is closely related to the devel-opment of digital materials and the creation of virtual learning environments )VLE(. A methodological proposal will be presented that is part of a teaching innovation project of Arabic as a Foreign Language within the context of higher education. The project consists in the development of a self-learning course )A2-B1( implemented in a virtual environment with the objective to enhance the learning of Arabic in students of the double degrees in International Relations and Global Communication, as well as Translation and Interpretation and Multilingual Communication of the Comillas Pontifical University. The self-study course is made up of modules of digital activities in ascending progression of competence development aimed at fostering the four language skills: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, speaking and writing.
