Simulation is frequently used in the teaching-learning process in the field of Health Sciences.Among the benefits of this practice, it stands out that it favors the development of critical thinking in studentsand improves their clinical practice. However, in the field of Speech Therapy, it is not easy to find informationon the application or benefits of simulation. This work has two goals (1) describe the use of simulation and itsbenefit in the learning process of voice evaluation (2) specify the difficulties of the students. To carry out thisexperience 51 students of the Degree in Speech Therapy performed a simulation session of voice evaluation. They were given all the necessary information about the case to plan the session. They carried out the simulated session and, finally, they made a diagnostic hypothesis of the case. To assess whether this practice hasbeen beneficial for students, and which are their difficulties, the evaluation rubric has been taken into account. No student has obtained less than 2,5 points in the score and 52.9% have achieved more than 8.5 points. Themain difficulties are related with the use of the evaluation tools. Therefore, simulation is beneficial for speechtherapy students to acquire voice assessment skills.
