Education is, by its very nature, intertwined with socio-political transformations. For this reason, it is fundamental that education guarantees the full adaptation of human beings to their social-historical dimension. Indeed, it is fundamental that it be connected with the model of society that characterises the different historical moments of humanity. The professional figures dealing with educational processes, closely linked to the social transformations and political evolutions of democracy, therefore, need training based on the competence to design and co-design social activities to respond to contemporary educational challenges. It is the project that removes the educational event from the deterministic components of existence, indeed. The contribution, starting from these theoretical suggestions, proposes a reflection on the workshop experience of designing social activities, which involved a group of about thirty female students enrolled in the first year of Educational Sciences at the University of Urbino “Carlo Bo”, and aimed at offering the participants a comparison with the complexity of current educational challenges, through a reality task.
