  • Resumen
    • The experience we are presenting is taking place in a public early childhood and primary education center in the city of Castelló de la Plana, Spain. The project addresses gender and sexual diversity through music and active musical practice. Therefore, music is used as a tool to promote the strengthening of social and emotional competencies, as well as to encourage coexistence, collaboration, dialogue, active listening, and personal reflection. Specifically, the project aims at developing understanding and recognition towards gender inequalities with a special focus on issues about sexual diversity. Through an active and participatory methodology, students can engage in activities such as exploration, creation, interpretation, active listening, and musical improvisation. The aim is to develop an egalitarian culture within the field of education. This article presents some of the activities that are being carried out and some of the issues that arise from their implementation.

The results have been very positive, as there has been a significant increase in students’ positive attitudes towards music and gender and sexual diversities after the intervention.
