Estudio acerca de factores determinantes en la elección de un plan diferenciado en estudiantes de enseñanza secundaria de dos colegios chilenos

    Este trabajo consiste en un estudio realizado en dos establecimientos educacionales de la provincia de Concepción, Chile, acerca de los factores determinantes en el proceso de elección de un plan diferenciado realizado por estudiantes que cursan tercer año de enseñanza media La investigación es cuantitativa de tipo descriptiva y la muestra corresponde a dos cursos de tercer año medio que asistieron a un plan diferenciado. La pregunta de la investigación fue: ¿Qué factores influyeron en el proceso de elección vocacional en los estudiantes que cursan plan diferenciado? Los objetivos tratados fueron: Identificar la relación existente entre el área elegida y las expectativas de los estudiantes, determinar la incidencia de sus habilidades con el plan elegido y establecer la relación existente entre el resultado académico y la elección vocacional realizada por los estudiantes. El instrumento utilizado consistió en una escala de apreciación tipo Likert, la que fue sometida a validación por expertos para revisar la pertinencia y claridad de los ítems. Los resultados de la investigación indicaron que existe coherencia entre las habilidades presente en los estudiantes con el Plan diferenciado elegido y su proyección con los estudios universitarios.

    The aim of the study was carried out in two educational establishments in the province of Concepción, Chile, about the determinants in the process of choosing a differenttiated plan carried out by student who are in the third year of secondary education. The research is quantitative descriptive type and the sample corresponds to two courses of average third year that attended a different plan. The research question was: What factors influenced the process of vocational choice in students taking a differentiated plan? The objectives were: To identify the relationship between the chosen area and the expectations of the students, to determine the impact of their abilities on the chosen plan and to establish the relationship between the academic outcome and the vocational choice made by the students. The instrument used consisted of a Likert scale of appreciation which was subjected to validation by experts to check the relevance and clarity of the items. The results of the research indicated that there is coherence between the abilities present in the students with the differentiated Plan chosen and their projection with the university studies.
