This paper reports on the experience acquired in the process of designing the profile and professional competencies of the Bachelor's Degree in Education graduating from a Faculty of Education. The previous conceptual precisions are made to clarify that capacities are concepts of greater semantic amplitude than competences; that each competence is actualized if the student possesses the respective necessary capacity and that competences are the actualization of human capacities according to the educational objectives assumed by the professor. The professional profile is the graduate's profile and is made up of two dimensions: the first: the traits that, as a person and member of society, the graduate should possess, and the second: the traits that, as a professional, he/she should have acquired in his/her training process.
