  Este trabajo analiza el fenómeno de difusión del icono de Artemisa/Diana en la moneda provincial acuñada por Emporiae. Para lograr nuestros objetivos, presentamos un estudio que parte de las consideraciones propuestas por otros autores, intentando profundizar sobre aspectos concretos que no han llamado la atención de la investigación. Así, en una primera parte, reflexionamos acerca del origen y primera evolución de esta propuesta tipológica. En la segunda parte, se estudian los aspectos principales que determinaron el proceso de proyección de los iconos monetarios empuritanos en el nuevo contexto identitario de finales del siglo I a. C. y principios de la centuria siguiente.

  This paper analyses the phenomena of the diffusion of the Artemis/Diana image on the provincial coinage minted by Emporiae. To achieve our objectives, we present a study that starts from the considerations proposed by other authors and that attempts to go deeper into specific aspects that have not attracted the attention of research. Thus, in the first part, we reflect on the origin and first evolution of this typological proposal. In the second part, we study the main aspects that determined the process of projection of the empuritanian monetary icons in the new identity context of the end of the 1st century BC and the beginning of the following century.
