Happy Birthday Floral Cluster

Hi all.  Dawn here to share my card for our June challenge.

Our challenge this month is a color challenge. We'd like you to use at least three of these colors, as well as black and white and skin tones, for people.

Our Sponsor this month is Poppystamps who will be giving our winner a $20 gift card. Thank you Poppystamps for your generosity.

My card uses an older Poppystamps die - called Floral Cluster.

I made my own coloured cardstock using Altenew inks and my gel plate - I used Canyon Clay, Burnt Red and Mahogany Bark inks direct to my gel plate and brayed to combine.   The colours become more muted and softer then direct to paper or ink blending.  I used some green inks and did the same for my branches and a very light version with Silver Sage and Jade inks for my background.  I embossed that with Altenew's Organic Linen embossing folder.  I die cut two layers of the green branches and then the separate flowers from the various blending I did  I added three over the flowers on the branch and three for around the edge of the die cut oval.  Sentiment was stamped in Gray Denim ink - to keep with the soft muted theme.  The matting layer is actually an olive green ( not as dark looking as the photo)

Do come and join us, using your die cut machine and the colour palette for the challenge.

Hello You Floral

Hi Dawn here to share my sample for this month's challenge.  It's a challenge that warms my heart... my favourite theme and sponsored by my favourite company....

FLOWERS

Our sponsor this month is Altenew. They will be giving our winner a $50 gift certificate to their online store. Thank you Altenew for this very generous gift.

Here's what I came up with.

I used Altenew Perfect Gift set - stamps, stencils, dies and embossing folder to make this one.  I used the embossing folder to add the embossed background.  It embosses the frame and the flower.. but I chose to stamp the flower separately and used the stencil to add the colour before die cutting it.   I used purples from Altenew Enchanted Garden set and greens from Tropical Forest set. The centre was Fresh Lemon but I added some Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen.   For my sentiment I die cut two from Altenew Versatile Greetings set from purple card.   I also made the little purple embellishments by cutting some paler purple card with a tiny circle background die - not sure where I got it as it is unbranded.  Made a LOT of dots!  I added a few here and there and added some glossy accents to them so they look like enamel dots.

We'd love to see your gorgeous FLOWER projects here

Wishing you Joy this Christmas

Hi all -Dawn here with inspiration for our October Diva Challenge. We're celebrating World Card Making Day all month long!! You just need to make a card including die cuts &/or use an embossing folder and enter it into the gallery by 9pm Pacific Time on October 31st.

I've been doing a few Christmas cards during this month so I'm keeping with that theme for my today's card.    I don't have a lot of My Favorite Things products - mostly older stuff from when I first started card making.  So today my Christmas card uses an older (discontinued) die called Hexagons.

The die set has two dies - one that cuts a border and then separate hexagons.   The separate hexagons are two sizes... one the exact size of the border and one slightly smaller.    I chose to make the border in black and then used a variety of Christmas papers for the separate ones and layered together.  I've pair this border with an embossed panel and a die cut sentiment and some stamped sub-sentiments.

Hope you will join us for our challenge.

Here's my card for today.

This is from "Santa's Workshop" set.   I coloured the die cut images with alcohol markers and added Glitter Glue to act as the snow on the workshop.  The sentiment is from Altenew - a free set from a magazine a few years back.

Christmas Reindeer

Hi there.... Dawn here to share my card for our July challenge . our sponsor is Elizabeth Crafts Design

Our challenge is "Christmas in July"

For my card today, I have used ECD - Reindeer.

I die cut out all the pieces and then used Copics to colour it in.   It is an adorable die cut.  There is a wreath with it - but I found it quite difficult to work out what went where so decided not to use it.  I found some lovely gold star paper for the background.  I used a Pretty Pink Posh edge die to cut a snow bank and added it over the PP.  I used Gina K Master Layouts 1 to trim the panel down.  I matted it onto black card.  I stamped a sentiment from a magazine freebie.  I love how the little reindeer turned out.  He is just so cute.

Love Ya - no matter what.

Hi, Dawn here with some inspiration for you.  Cas-ual Fridays Stamps is our sponsor

Our theme - Anything Goes!!

(Just remember to include a die cut &/or use an embossing folder.)

Prize - $20 gift card to their store (USA or Canadian resident only), randomly picked from eligible May entries

My card today uses older Cas-ual Fridays stamp and die... but there are lots of great product on the website (Here)

For my card I have used a Cas-ual Fridays "Catherine's Background" stamped in 4 purple inks from Altenew.  I inked it up and lightly spritzed with water and stamped onto some white cardstock.  I trimmed the panel down so it would fit onto the purple die cut panel.  The scalloped panel is from Gina K Master Layout #4.  I added dimension to the stamped panel with some cheap card stock.   The sentiment is Cas-ual Fri Dies - Girlfriend was die cut from the same purple as scalloped die and layered up with 3 layers.  The sub-sentiment is from the Girlfriend stamp set.  I added a few die cut flowers (left over from the other days die cutting) for embellishment.

Thanks for stopping and we hope to see you in our May Gallery!

Mini Slimline Floral with Diamond Wire and Woodgrain Frame.

Hi there... Dawn here with my sample for this month's challenge.   Our sponsor for November is Kat Scrappiness and the Divas thought Slimline and Mini Slimline cards were perfect to make your holiday cards, no matter the content.

Kat Scrappiness is offering a prize of a Kat Scrappiness Gift Pack valued at least $25.

The standard size of a slimline card is typically 3.5" X 8.5" (8.89 X 21.59 cm).  The card base for a mini slimline card is typically 3" X 6".   These are approximate sizes and we won't be checking to see if your card meets the exact standard for either size.

I've gone with a mini slimline.   Thanks to Arlene, who sent me a Kat Scrappiness  Mini Slimline Diamond Wire and Woodgrain Frame in a lovely cream card stock and that was what I used for my background.

I added the frame to cream card base that I made a similar size to the frame.  I paired the wire frame with and Altenew Lily.  I used some watercolour pencils to colour up my lily.  The sentiment is also from Altenew. I added some silver baubles on some of the diamonds.

These Kat Scrappiness dies are the best!  Great mini slimline ones too.

Come and join us with your Slimline projects.  Can't wait to see what you create.

Faux Watercolouring with Altenew inks

 Hi there.  Dawn here again.

Our theme for the month of August is "watercolor real or faux".

The Prize will be a $20 gift certificate to Altenew.

Today I'm sharing a Faux watercoloured card.   A great easy way to do watercolouring.

To make my watercoloured flowers I used the layers of Nature Blossoms flower. I inked up with the first colour and spritzed with water before stamping onto some watercolour paper . I dried with my heat gun and did the next layer in the same manner. And finally the last layer. I used the Red Sunset inks from Altenew - one using the first three inks and two using the 2nd - 4th inks. The centres are stamped using inks from the Warm and Cozy set. I die cut with the matching dies and then blended a little of the ink on the edges. For the leaves I used inks from the Green Meadow inks and did some smooshing onto wet watercolour paper. After it dried, I overstamped some leaves. I die cut the leaves and with some of the extra watercolour paper, I die cut some branches from the Branches and Berries Die set. My other faux watercolour technique used the Classy Stripe stencil - I inked it with the Crimson ink, spritzed with water and used it to "stamp" onto my card base. Loved how it looks. the sentiment is from the Engraved Flowers set.

Do come and join us for this month's challenge.

A Happy Birthday in Green

Hi there.   Dawn here to share my card to inspire you today.   Our theme this month is tone-on-tone.   And our superb sponser is Birch Press Design  this month and they have donated a $20 gift card for our random winner (to be announced August 3rd).

My card using the stunning Big Birthday Sugar Script die which the lovely Diva Cindy sent me a few precut.  I took the inner die and used some Dark green Altenew ink to colour up.... be warned though - keep an eye on the tiddle.... mine decided to run away and I couldn't find it.... I had some lovely green patterned paper but it wasn't quite the green I needed so I used the same dark ink to blend over it and the white layer.  Once the dark green die was added to the white shadow layer I added it to the blended background and stamped a little happy.  To finish a little dark green butterfly.  Loving this mini slimline size.

Thanks for stopping by today.  You have till 9.00 pm Pacific Time on the 31st to join our challenge.

Hey There Girlfriend

Hi there Dawn.  I'm back to inspire you for this month's challenge.

                                             CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Prize: $20 gift code
This is a Tic Tac Toe challenge month using the grid below.
Please tell us which row you picked on your entry.

For today's card, I've gone for a diagonal line on our tic tac toe - Uneven edge, Friendship and Flowers.

I used a Spellbinders die to cut my uneven edge out of some lacy looking patterned paper.  My CAS-ual Friday's stamp set is unfortuneatly now retired.  It's called "Girlfriend" and I used it to add the sentiment and to stamp the flowers.  I used some ink blending on them and then fussy cut.  Added lots of bling to the centre of the flowers and some leaves from my "scrap" pile

Just a couple more days to join the May challenge.

Merry Christmas Day from me and all the Divas.....

Thanks to Kat Scrappiness for being our sponsor for this month's Anything Goes challenge.

By the time you read this, Christmas Day will be nearly over at my house.  So hope that all of you have a special time this Christmas.

Tiled Valentine

Hello everyone,

Cindy here to share another inspiration for this month's challenge:  Holidays!

Cheapo Dies is our sponsor this month.  They have increased their inventory with the addition of well  known die brands like Altenew, Elizabeth Craft Designs, Memory Box, Sizzix, Hero Arts, PoppyStamps, Lawn Fawn and a whole lot more.  Be sure to check Cheapo Dies out here.

Cheapo Dies offers a $15 gift certificate as the prize for our challenge winner.

Now about my card.  A few days ago I used Altenew Graden Trellis Cover Die (available at Cheapo Dies) for my project, and I am left with lots of the negative pieces.  Today I made use of them to create a Valentine card.

I used the same cover die along with a silicone mat to sandwich the card front and pass thru the die cut machine to created the embossed pattern/grid.  Then I glue the colored left over pieces on top and coated with Sprinkled Sugar for a bit of shine.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment in black.

For further details, hop over to my blog:  Escape To Stamping.

Thanks for stopping by!
