The mountains are nicely rounded by snow and nicely lit by the low winter sun, while the forests and mountain cabins of Gudbrandsdalen stay in the shade.

Small life in a big cave
This is one of the two openings of the large hole through the mountain Torghatten. It's a quick hike up from the road just outside Brønnøysund, and as soon as the rocks stop falling down from the top of the cave after spring, it's perfectly safe to walk through it.
Waterfall country

Kannesteinen at the end of the road on Vågsøy
If you feel adventurous, head for Måløy, and then continue on the narrow road Oppedalsvegen to its conclusion. Park your car and walk a few meters, and you will find this natural peculiarity. Best done at sunrise or sunset, but you must be awake and concentrated if you drive here
A quiet evening in Lærdalsøyri

Here's a pretty place in Lomsdal-Visten National Park. It's one of the largest practically untouched wilderness areas in mainland Norway. Not as easy to get to as the more famous spots, but every bit as beautiful, and worth the effort.
