The staircase of the Biltmore Estate is cantilevered. There are no supports on the inside! After 100 years, it is still standing strong. I have to admit that after hearing that it's cantilevered, my heart started racing while climbing the stairs.

Biltmore's hidden doors, such as the one in the Billiard Room, were designed to create a seamless appearance but provide access for staff.
