107K views · 4.1K reactions | A shout-out board isn’t something that I’ve ever tried, so I’m really excited to see how this boosts the sense of community in the classroom. Here’s how I’m implementing this!

🖤 Each student will be surveyed to determine how they prefer to receive praise (privately, publicly, both or neither).
🖤 A list of those preferences will be next to the board.
🖤 When someone wants to give a shout-out, they can fill out a card and staple it to the board. 
🖤 When someone wants to send private praise, they can fill out a “happy mail” card and deliver it in an envelope. 

The envelopes and stickers may or may not last long because I can see it getting a bit overused, but we’ll see!

I love how my students recognize each other and write notes that will encourage them to continue the behavior/act they witnessed. It’s so meaningful to be recognized by your peers!
