Florian Gadsby on Instagram: "This bowl was the first test I did with these new materials, scraps from the metalworking process given to me by Alex Pole, (@alexpoleironwork), he makes lovely things.   I’ve been incorporating bronze filings and hammer scale made from working steel into my stoneware clay at random since reduction firing this initial experiment. Never both again, as together they create a surface that’s perhaps a little too dramatic for my liking, although with that being said, clay that’s been trimmed away from these pots has found its way into my reclaim and thus into new thrown work, albeit in a much more pared back manner. A red dot here, a molten pool of iron there, I prefer when they’re subtle like this, it makes them more akin to beauty spots.
