Value painting monochromatic

Create a landscape using tints and shades of one color to create a monochromatic painting. This easy painting technique will give your painting the illusion depth.

The tints and shades lesson went really well. The student seemed to really enjoy the lesson and the images are great. Most of the students had little trouble mixing the paint and have a good representation of two different tints and two different shades in their paintings. I think that the best part of the process for the students though was the pointalism part of the image where they got to paint with the end of a colored pencil. Just the sound of the pencils making dots all-around the room…
