Sergeant Thunderhoof Comes Galloping Back for 2nd LP
We’re one month away from the release of the epic new album, ‘Ride of the Hoof’ (2015) by the might foursome from Bath, SERGEANT THUNDERHOOF (cue: trumpet announcing the dreadful coming of the purple stallion!). Not too many weeks ago, we geeked all over the new album art by Sara-Jane Swettenham, and this week we get to share something more from the band’s hotly anticipated sophomore LP: the very first single! Here is “When Time Stood Still” (here in a music video recorded and filmed at Stage 2 Studios by Ben Turner and James Benjamin Harvey).
BTW, pre-orders for the deluxe limited edition went online today, as well. While you’re taking in that first track, let’s hear from the band with “a few details about the new album…as with everything we’ve done, it was completely self financed. We once again recorded it at Stage 2 Studios in Bath (UK) with the very talented Ben Turner earlier this year. Artwork is again supplied by Sara-Jane Swettenham and we think you’ll agree, it’s pretty awesome! 'Ride of the Hoof’ continues the lyrical themes from 'Zigurat’ and continues to tell the story of the life of the Sergeant himself!
"A few details about us….. we all have full time jobs and families to feed. Sergeant Thunderhoof is a labour of love for us all, we would never do this for the money. We do however, really appreciate your support, whether it be buying one of our records, coming to a show or simply listening to us and enjoying what we do. Any money we make is put straight back in to the band. If we manage to get some money back from this album, we may consider doing another next year. We can only do this with your help, so thank you for being awesome!”
The album drops November 5th. Happy riff-worshipping!
The Best Thing You’ll See All Weekend
Remember, remember the 5th of November! That’s when SERGEANT THUNDERHOOF lets loose their sophomore record, and what a beast it promises to be!
Today, the Bath, UK band unveiled the stunning new artwork for the new album by Sara-Jane Swettenham, which is the best thing you’ll see all weekend. Seriously, I can’t stop staring at it. I want this framed on my wall! Sara-Jane, by the way, also did the artwork for their first LP, Zigurat. The band is going over the final mixes at the moment and we will keep you updated as soon as the first audio is revealed! In the meanwhile, get your mits on the first album - it’s a real gem.
