Doomed & Stoned

Live'n'Loud‬: Blackwitch Pudding

A Doomed & Stoned Film

They’re one of the most exciting acts in metal today: BLACKWITCH PUDDING. The collective of 500-year old wizards have been jamming in the ether for for eons, manifesting in the flesh on rare occasions for unseemly rituals, such as the one that took place last weekend at World Famous Kenton Club in Portland, Oregon.

This being the release of their fabulous new EP, the boys were joined by one fabulous chick by the name of Soul Wizard (see our interview with her for hints as to her identity!) Dig this incredible performance of “Herman, The Worm Man” from the new EP:

Filmed by yours truly last Friday, April 29th, 2016. Blackwitch Pudding played new songs, old songs, and the two amazing songs on their new EP, which can be gotten here. A wondrous experience for all involved!

Blackwitch Pudding, Bloodmoon, Chasma, Old Hand LIVE TONIGHT at Slabtown

Portlanders! Don’t miss your chance to see four killer bands in their prime during the last days of Slabtown! News broke early in the weekend that the Rose City’s favorite dive bar was indeed closing it’s doors. That means I’m going to do my damnedest to get my fluffy goat ass (yes, it is quite fluffy) to Slabtown during the month of October so I can experience the dirty goodness that bands and fans have been coming for year after year.

TONIGHT (10/4), the bill includes the sick, demonic riffs of those bastardly wizards Blackwitch Pudding, joined by Cali blackened-sludgers Bloodmoon, the “ragged fury” of Portland noir ouveau act Chasma, and the “loud, apocalyptic, dirty prog” of Old Hand. Show at 9 pm, 21+ and 6 bucks to partake of the madness.  Brought to you by Soundcontrol PDX. Here’s the event page.

We’ve been especially supportive of Blackwitch Pudding since they were a relative unknown in the collage of the “Keep Portland Weird” set.  See my recent interview with Space Wizard.  And, I can’t resist, here’s my footage of the Ancient Ones shot in pitch black darkness of Slabtown this past spring.

We’ve been plugging BLACKWITCH PUDDING from the first moment we discovered them, through the 2013 EP, ‘Taste The Pudding.’ I’ve captured them on video twice and they’re on our compilation, Doomed & Stoned in Portland (2014).  Just today, the irreverent Wizard clan released their latest travesty, Covered in Pudding Vol. 1 (2013). My interview with Portland-based guitarist/vocalist Space Wizard is coming soon to these pages, so keep watch, gentle reader! In the meantime, get a load of the riffage of this devastating and dirty sludge machine.

The Goate is well-pleased.
