Maasai original track was recorded by the Israelian producer, multi-instrumentalist and filmmaker KUTIMAN after he went on a trip to Tanzania in 2014. When I heard the Maasai chant, I knew I could dig and try something for a remix and contacted him right away. I quickly picked out the right synch between the synth bass and the organ lead, combined with the african drums sounds (agogo bells, african claves, percussions) and electronic drum machine (Roland tr 808). The remix features a combination of electronic and spiritual jazz, resulting in a trancy groove through the mesmerizing Chagga chant.

Le morceau original Maasai a été enregistré en 2014 par le producteur, réalisateur et multi-instrumentiste KUTIMAN au retour d'un voyage en Tanzanie. Quand j'ai entendu le chant de ce morceau, j'ai tout de suite été inspiré et j'ai pris contact avec l'artiste pour lui soumettre mon envie de remixer son titre. J'ai commencé mes recherches de sons en trouvant rapidement l'adéquation entre le synth bass, l'organ lead et le chant avant d'ajouter les percussions africaines (agogo bells, african claves, percussions) et le beat de boite à rythme (Roland tr 808). Le résultat est une combinaison entre musique électronique et transe traditionnelle portée par ce chant Chagga.
