Vibe
Vibe is Mistral's unified agent for productivity and coding tasks, built for professional use and available across web, mobile, your code editor, and your terminal.
It runs in two modes, each shaped for a different kind of task:
- Work: the unified experience in the Vibe web and mobile apps. Quick conversations and multi-stage professional tasks (research, drafts, summaries, scheduled runs) happen in the same place, and a fast/think toggle switches between quick conversational responses and deeper, agentic workflows.
- Code: development in your terminal, in VS Code, or as remote cloud sessions.

Chat and Work are now one. Vibe used to split quick conversations (Chat) and multi-step agentic work (Work) into two tabs, so you had to pick a surface before you could start a task. Since September 22, they're merged into a single experience: one place for every conversation, where the fast/think toggle sets how deep Vibe goes — not which tab you're in. The chat.mistral.ai ↗ URL remains the entry point, and your plan, history, and settings are preserved.
The rollout is progressive: self-serve Free, Pro, and Teams accounts are migrated first. Enterprise organizations follow with a six-month migration window — administrators pick the migration date in the admin panel or trigger the merge immediately. If you relied on Agents, use Skills instead — invoke them with @. Onboarding modals walk you through what changed the first time you open the unified experience.
How Vibe works
Across every mode, you interact with Vibe the same way: same Mistral models, same patterns, same control. A typical Vibe workflow looks like this:
- You describe the outcome you want in natural language.
- Vibe gathers context from your prompt, attached files, connected tools, or the web.
- Vibe plans and acts: it breaks the task into steps, calls the right tools, and shows its progress in real time.
- You review and reuse: outputs are inspectable, editable, and reusable across sessions.
At every step, you stay in control. Vibe asks for approval before sensitive actions, shows every tool call, and lets you steer or stop at any point.
Temporary Chat starts a conversation that isn't saved to your history or used to train our models. We only log that a Temporary Chat happened, not its content, and data may be retained where legally required.
