If you want to learn more about Magic, enjoy the game more deeply, or become a better player, you've come to the right place. And if you like to nerd out on data, math, and stats, then Draftsim is definitely for you.
If you want to feel confident before going to your first prerelease or FNM, Draftsim is for you. If you feel like you could use a little help drafting on MTG Arena, then Draftsim is definitely for you.
And if you just want to get in some quick and dirty draft practice without having to get a bunch of friends together, then you’re in the right place. (Shh, I won’t tell your boss you’re on Draftsim at work)
The origin story
Why should you care about what you see on Draftsim? I’ve been playing Magic on and off for over 20 years. After many years of practicing and struggling to break through competitively, I finally hit one my life’s goals in 2018 by top 8ing a limited GP and playing on the Pro Tour. And I think that if you put in dedicated time and effort, you can achieve similar results.
As we all know, Magic is an incredibly rich and complex game and I’m still learning a lot every day. On Draftsim, I plan to share everything I Iearn with you. I love the game so much, and there’s nothing I’d rather be doing than drafting all the time. But a close second to that is running a website about Magic.
Back in 2016, I took over Draftsim from its original founder Daniel Brooks. I knew he’d really created a gem. Draftsim was — and is — an awesome draft simulator. But I want to make it so much more than that – the ultimate resource for everything Magic on the internet.
So, where do I start?
Draftsim is best known for is its stellar draft and sealed simulator. You can practice drafting (or sealed) for free at any time against computer AI opponents. If you’re curious how it works, check out the methodology and the faq
We have an amazing blog filled with hundreds of MTG articles that get you up to speed on everything from Commander to Modern, Explorer, and beyond.
If you play MTG Arena, the Draftsim MTG Arena overlay Arena Tutor is absolutely essential. It’s like having an expert drafter over your shoulder – it will give you AI-based pick recommendations and helps you keep track of all your matches and decks.
Finally, for each set we publish a pick order tier list. You can quickly and easily get an idea about what the best cards in the set are and how highly you should take them during a booster draft.
