Dream Weapon is the sonic alias of Victorian Surf Coast-based visual artist Ben Björk (Pageants/You WIll Die Alone/California Bungalows).

Known for his visual art practice, Björk turns his focus to long-form soundscapes with New Blue Lagoon, — a debut album of what Björk calls “AmbienGaze”: a tropical cocktail of ambient, new age, drone and shoegaze.

Recorded over five years in far-flung locations — Honolulu, Los Angeles, Isla Mujeres, Uluwatu, and Geelong (AU) — the record plays like a vapor trail across exotic and not so exotic locations. Guitar, synthesiser, field recordings, and processed textures are layered into a sound which draws from the deep wells of Fripp & Eno's Evening Star and 1970s private-press ambient, but with a modern lens.
