Rivian has been operating in Canada for five years now. However, this is the first time a fleet of Rivian’s electric delivery vans (EDVs) has reached our neighbors to the north. Amazon is putting several vehicles into service around a renowned Canadian city.

Young American EV brand Slate hit the public with not one, but two, press announcements this morning. First, Slate confirmed its flagship vehicle will utilize the North American Charging Standard (NACS), enabling access to the Tesla Supercharger network. Speaking of networks, the company has also secured a national service partner for its vehicles after they reach customers.

A report this morning detailed American EV automaker Rivian’s plans to lay off a portion of its current workforce as it tries to conserve cash while gearing up for the launch of its newest model, the R2, next year.

Solid-state battery developer QuantumScape announced it hit another key goal for 2025, beginning shipments of its B1 sample cells featuring separators produced using its proprietary Cobra process. We are two weeks out from Halloween, and Rivian is already playing trick or treat with its social media followers. The EV automaker teased what appears to be this year’s unique Halloween “Car Costume” by showcasing a moss-covered Rivian vehicle near water.

After an announcement last week, eVTOL developer Archer Aviation completed display flights to the public at the 2025 California International Air Show. This public display was Archer’s latest aerial achievement in the public eye as it moves closer to certification and commercial eVTOL operations.

Chinese EV brand ZEEKR has announced a new design refresh to its flagship 001 EV model – the second in as many years. This latest upgrade to the 001 features ZEEKR’s 900V architecture, enabling better performance and some of the fastest charging speeds we’ve seen. The interior also appears quite cozy, allowing for a starry night setting on the panoramic roof.
