Ram touts Ramcharger REEV as the ‘ultimate electric pickup,’ but where’s the real EV?

Ram Trucks introduced the 2026 Ramcharger pickup this week, its first range-extender electric vehicle (REEV). CEO Tim Kuniskis claims it’s “the ultimate electric truck” with up to 690 miles of range and can tow up to 14,000 lbs. Meanwhile, Ram continues to put its fully electric pickup, the Ram 1500 REV, on the back burner.

Jeep, Dodge maker developing lithium-sulfur EV batteries promising to cut costs in half

Jeep and Dodge owner Stellantis announced a new partnership on Thursday to develop new EV batteries with “game-changing” energy density. Stellantis said the new batteries are expected to unlock significantly more range and 50% faster charging speeds. Even better, they’re expected to cost less than half the price per kWh of current battery tech.

The company is considering a leadership change after Taveres’ contract expires in 2026. Dieselgate 2.0: 600K Ram trucks recalled, Cummins to pay $2 billion

Well, it’s like 2015 all over again, but this time it involves Ram pickup trucks. And a lot of them. Engine maker Cummins is recalling 600,000 Ram trucks as part of a huge $2 billion settlement with both federal and California authorities for using illegal software to cheat results of diesel emissions tests.

Ram copies Toyota’s BS with ridiculous PR campaign for new Ramcharger 1500

It looks like Ram has taken a page from Toyota’s playbook on how to spin a hybrid into a “class-shattering battery electric vehicle” that gets “unlimited range”: just make stuff up. Ram, owned by Stellantis, insists that we not call its new Ramcharger 1500 pickup a hybrid when it in fact houses a 27-gallon gas tank between the battery and the rear axle. So yeah, it’s clearly a hybrid.
