Fandom sense denoting a ship (relationship)
[edit]I think it's stretching things to call this a conjunction. Isn't it more like a symbol? Equinox ◑ 14:34, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
Possible missing sense: series/episode separator, e.g. X Files 1x04
[edit]Should we add? And what's the origin of this? Equinox ◑ 14:36, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
Gender-neutralizing sense
[edit]A discussion: Wiktionary:Tea_room/2019/March#-x_(or_-x-)_as_an_general_inclusive_affix?, and older discussion: Wiktionary:Tea_room/2015/February#-.40:_the_suffix. - -sche (discuss) 20:49, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- Talk:Latinx also has discussion related to this, and mentions terms like womxn, hxstory, alumnx, and Xicana (/Xicanx). - -sche (discuss) 01:21, 13 May 2019 (UTC)
- Spotted online today: thexlogian and thexlogy, in place of thealogian/theologian, thealogy/theology. Nothing on Google Books, Groups, Scholar, or Issuu, though. - -sche (discuss) 01:28, 13 May 2019 (UTC)
- I dont think Xicana belongs in this category though ... the initial x may just be an attempt to clarify that it's a word of indigenous origin (in this case Nahuatl) rather than being from Spanish. —Soap— 15:44, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
