azyl
Appearance
English
[edit]Noun
[edit]azyl
- An organic radical containing the functional group -N=N-O•, where the nitrogen atom is bonded to an oxygen atom and a carbon-centered radical.
- 2008, Gennadiĭ Efremovich Zaikov, Progress in Chemical and Biochemical Physics, Kinetics and Thermodynamics, page 63:
- Widely spread classification of conjugated radicals, based on the formal structural sign of "key" atom is evidently not satisfactory enough, because the delocalization of unpaired electrons cloud different in their origin radicals, for example, aroxyls, classical nitroxyls, aromatic azyls and verdazyls, can be formally united into one and the same group of compounds of trivalent carbon.
