Despite the form kalek being listed in several major Polish dictionaries, many describe it as “not recommended” (like the Słownik gramatyczny języka polskiego) or in the case of more prescriptive ones outright “incorrect.” The form kalk is used more often due to the former also being the genitive plural of kaleka.
