[edit]Symbol
[edit]⚪︎
- An unencircled (not ticked) option.
- (Can we verify(+) this sense?) (gender, text style only) asexual.[1][2]
- (LGBTQ) intersex[3]
- Synonym: ⚦
- (chemistry, text style only) oxygen (Daltonian symbol).
- (Internet slang) The color white, or representing something that is white.
Usage notes
[edit]As either a gender or chemical symbol, this character should display as a simple circle rather than as an emoji. Appending the variation selector ︎ will override emoji formatting. Technically, for 'oxygen' the font color should be set to red, ⟨⚪︎⟩, though it's not uncommon for that detail to be omitted. The old chemical symbol might instead by typeset with the full-moon character ⟨🌕︎⟩, depending on which better matches the size of other element symbols.
